Regardless of the brand of SCBA you use, you can send in your PosiChek3 to International Safety for authorized service and calibration.

A service quotation or service estimate will be provided and your authorization will be required before we proceed with the repair. For pricing to clean and re-certify your PosiChek3, please contact us for a quote.

On completion of service, a certificate of calibration and a copy of the test results will be issued. Our turn-around time is as fast as possible from date of receipt.

What is the PosiChek3 and what is it used for?
The PosiChek3 is a computerized test machine designed to evaluate the performance of completely assembled Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) and other types of air-supplied respiratory protective equipment. The PosiChek3 has been the industry standard for thousands of fire departments, refineries, chemical plants and nuclear power stations, worldwide since it was first introduced in 1988. The PosiChek3 incorporates a unique computer-controlled bellows apparatus that simulates breathing into and out of the mouth of a test head in the same manner that air is drawn into and out of the mouth of a human breathing apparatus wearer. The PosiChek3 is able to perform dynamic tests to determine if the breathing apparatus is functioning properly. PosiChek3 can fully evaluate the operational readiness of a Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) in less than 2 minutes, and consumes less than 1% of its air supply.
Why does my PosiChek3 unit need annual calibration?
The PosiChek3 must be calibrated annually to maintain the accuracy of the internal transducers and breathing rates. Each unit is inspected in great detail by a trained technician to ensure correct and accurate operation.
How can I submit my PosiChek3 for calibration in Canada?
International Safety (IS) is the only Honeywell Analytics (formerly Biosystems) Authorized Service Centre in Canada. IS is one of only four service centres in the world outside of the United States that is authorized to perform Annual Calibrations on the PosiChek3 unit. What are IS’ acceptable methods of payment?
IS accepts VISA, MasterCard and American Express credit cards.
I want to upgrade my PosiChek3 from a Parallel Port to a USB connection. Can IS help me with that?
Yes. For all Canadian Users of the PosiChek3, IS is the only Honeywell-authorized service centre for all repairs, calibration and upgrades. Just send your unit to IS and our trained staff and technicians are happy to do the rest. Please note that your annual calibration will be included for free as part of the conversion to USB.
How much does it cost to calibrate my PosiChek3? How much does it cost to convert my PosiChek3 from a Parallel Port to a USB?
IS has standard flat fees for Calibration and Upgrade/Conversion services related to the PosiChek3 within Canada. These prices do not include the cost of replacement parts if your unit requires repairs. To initiate the process of calibration or upgrade, please see the form here .
How do I package my PosiChek3 for Shipment?

The only acceptable method of shipping your PosiChek3 for calibration is in the original manufacturer-approved cardboard box with the internal foam padding that your unit originally came with.

Do NOT ship your PosiChek3 in a Pelican Case. These cases are recommended for your own transportation requirements but are not acceptable for the annual calibration services.

When returning your PosiChek3 for annual calibration, you do not need to send the head assembly, any accessories, software or tools with the PosiChek3 base unit. The only component that must be sent to us is the PosiChek3 base unit; unless you are having issues with any of the accessories that you would like our technicians to diagnose. Our technicians have all the necessary tools and attachments to successfully calibrate your unit.

Please note: if you do not send your unit as required, IS will ship your unit back to you in an approved container after calibration and charge you a $55 fee. You will also have to make other arrangements to get your other container (or pelican case) back at your own expense. IS will not ship your PosiChek3 inside a pelican case or any other non-approved container.

Please note if you do not ship your unit in a cardboard box you will also be billed $12.

If you fail to follow proper shipping instructions. IS waives all responsibility for lost, stolen or damaged PosiChek3 units.

My PosiChek3 already has the USB upgrade. Will IS calibrate my PosiChek3?
Yes. For all Canadian Users of the PosiChek3, IS is the only Honeywell-authorized service centre for all repairs, calibration and upgrades.
How long will I be without my PosiChek3 after I have sent it in for Calibration?
Typically, IS will turn around your PosiChek3 within two to three business days from its date of receipt at IS in Newmarket for a standard calibration for a non-USB upgraded unit. In certain circumstances, at your request, we may perform a “rush” service at your request. Please indicate that you need a rush service performed in the notes section of the service work order form.
I want to buy a new PosiChek3 unit. How much will a new one cost?

Can I download the USB software instead of using a disc?
Honeywell Analytics has made the Posi3 USB software available for download. It can be found on the Biodownloads section of the Honeywell Analytics website. Keep in mind that if you do not already have a licensed version of the software installed on your PC/laptop, you will have an evaluation version installed (25 day trial).
